Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These terms set out the basis on which Your Website For Free, a service operated by Mark B of 10a Brook Street, Wivenhoe, CO7 9DS ("we", "us", "our"), provides its website design and hosting service to you. By enquiring and proceeding with us, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
We design, build and host a website for your business. The design and build are provided free of charge; you pay a monthly fee for hosting and the ongoing service as set out on our pricing page.
2. Your free build & preview
After your enquiry we prepare your website and share a preview. There is no charge and no obligation at the preview stage. If you don't wish to proceed, simply tell us and nothing further happens.
3. Payment & Direct Debit
If you're happy with your preview and choose to proceed, you set up a Direct Debit. Your first monthly payment collects when your website goes live โ not before. Payments then recur monthly. All prices are shown on our website.
4. Minimum term & cancellation
Your service has a minimum term of 10 months from go-live, which covers the cost of your free build. After that it continues on a rolling monthly basis. You may cancel at any time after the minimum term by giving 2 months' notice. If you cancel during the minimum term, the remaining monthly payments up to the end of that term become payable.
5. What's included & support
Your plan includes hosting, security, an SSL certificate and a set number of content changes each month depending on your plan (3 on Simple, 6 on Plus, 10 on Pro) โ such as text edits, new photos or updated opening hours. Larger changes, redesigns or additional features are available and will be quoted separately. Optional bolt-ons (such as an online shop, extra pages, business email or an AI chat assistant) are charged in addition, as shown on our website.
6. Domains & email
You may use a domain you already own, or we can register one for you at the rate shown, payable yearly or monthly. Business email mailboxes, where taken, are provided via a third-party provider (Zoho) and billed as an add-on.
7. Ownership
The content you provide (your text, logo and images) remains yours. The website we build is provided as part of your ongoing service. On request after your minimum term, we will help you move your website content to another provider.
8. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information and content that you have the right to use, and not to use the service for anything unlawful. You are responsible for keeping your account and payment details up to date.
9. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
